It’s been been forever since I decided to blog! Truthfully, it takes a while to prep photos, write content, organize, and prepare for the internet world. Plus, writing just doesn’t come naturally. However, I thought I should start 2017 right and deliver the first session that I’m finalizing with a blog post! 2016 was one for the books and in all honesty I want to say “I’ll tell you all about it in another blog post”… truthfully, I’ll probably never get to writing that post. Instead, I’ll say “ask me in person about last year!” For real, do it… but just going to warn you that I’ll talk you ear off.

Oh and if you want to read a great blog about New Years Resolutions for Mom’s, I suggest you head on over to that link and laugh because this is exactly what my resolutions are for this year.

Onto, this sweet baby! Navy won me over with her tight baby curls and her calm demeanor. Her mommy told me that she’d like to incorporate one of my favorite things, babies and parents in uniform! You’ll just have to scroll down to see for yourself!

Not only is the above photo one of my favorites, but the next two are so sweet! Navy was so incredibly content in her daddys arms. She was awake, but calm, and those two words are barely ever happen at the same time during a newborn session.

I love to end my session with this set up that looks kind of like their being tucked into bed. It’s so simple and organic. I don’t mess with the babies hands or feet and let them wake up if they’d like.

If you’ve read this far, thank you! Truly, 2016 was wonderful, but I’m excited to look into what 2017 has to offer!

A couple of weeks ago I had the opportunity to photograph a fun and bubbly couple, Francis and Elliot. They definitely made it so much fun for me to create lively, and amusing moments that shine through their photographs. This upcoming weekend they are getting married at the St. Mary’s Cathedral, which I am super excited for because it has been so long since I’ve been there (which is funny because I work right across the street). I am looking forward to celebrating with them, and from the sounds of it, their wedding party is going to be a lot of fun!

Together they’re really laid back and know how to have a blast! Francis definitely has a great taste for style with her flowy skirt and semi-crop top to give a little classic flair. While Elliot and I discussed our similar taste in the fashionable Birkenstock sandals (that I finally broke-in).

They explained to me how they have a love for running, and oddly enough, the next day they were running the Fargo Marathon together!
I just had to catch a few candids of their goofy selves.

The trees were blooming brilliantly pink and white the previous week, but most were finished blooming. Elliot actually managed to find one of the only blooming trees in the area at the time, what a great catch!

Not only am I excited to get the opportunity to work with this beautiful couple once again at their wedding this weekend, but I’m mainly jealous they get to celebrate their honeymoon in Nicaragua!

This session was mainly made for Henryk as part of his 6 month milestone session. However, I love it when the family joins in. Big sister, Joran, is so proud to have an awesome little brother.
And boy-oh-boy I couldn’t believe what an adorable little chunk Henryk was! Sometimes it was a little tricky to get him to smile, but his big sister was always there to constantly love him up.

I love the sunshiny yellow dress! It is such a happy color and suits Joran’s personality so well. It was really nice to see bright colors and a bright personality with all the cloudy days we had been having.

Not only are bowties one of the most adorable things on a baby, I also really love kids in denim! This outfit was so perfect for Henryk (it even has a belt).

Welcome to viewing the gorgeousness that is Christina and Scott’s picture perfect wedding day at The Barn at Danvilla, just south of Detroit Lakes, MN! Their wedding day was stunning, and everyone was such a blast to hang out with all day long.

The reception was so laid back with everyone enjoying drinks, yard games, but the sunset stole the show! So, of course, we took full advantage of it! I love ending the night with a gorgeous sunset photo with an amazing couple. Happy wedding day to Christina and Scott!Dunvilla-Wedding-141

I don’t think Monday could have started any better! I love waking up to frosty mornings, but the view from our home is less that ideal. I headed to the office, just to make a pit stop to photograph the frost. Truthfully, I had great intentions to head to the gym, but I forgot my tennis shoes. New years resolution fail the 4th day in. Oh well, life is about what makes you happy, and a brisk walk in nature is far better than the gym anyway. To tell the truth, I only like photographing nature if I have people in the photos, but I still enjoyed this refreshing break. Maybe the next frosty morning, I’ll have to post a model call, we will see!
